More About Our Service

Is the Wasp Hive Removal Service in Nevada safe for kids and pets?

Yes. Nothing is sprayed. We physically remove each nest, which lets a beekeeper do this work without a pest control license. That means no residue on your porch, deck or garden, and nothing drifting onto the flowers pollinators in Wyandot County need. Call or text 419-614-6445 for a free virtual quote.

Will you kill bumblebees or cicada killers in my Nevada yard?

No. As a beekeeper-owned company, we relocate the insects that help us. Bumblebees and native paper wasps are always humanely relocated, and gentle cicada killers are moved away from walkways and play areas rather than poisoned. Male cicada killers can’t sting, and females rarely do. We only remove the stinging insects that put people at risk, like yellowjackets, hornets and European paper wasps.

Wasp & Hornet Removal Around Nevada

Can your Wasp Hive Removal Service help with farmhouses and older homes in Nevada?

Absolutely. Older siding, loose trim and open vents give yellowjackets easy access to wall and ceiling voids. We locate and extract the nest by hand instead of using poison, so there’s nothing left in the wall to attract pests. Keep clear of the entrance and give us a call.

Can you remove wasp nests from barns, sheds and outbuildings around Nevada?

We do. Wasps around Nevada love the shelter of barns, sheds and outbuildings. Yellowjacket, hornet and European paper wasp nests are removed with no pesticides. Native paper wasps are relocated, never destroyed, since they eat caterpillars and other pests. Snap a photo from a safe distance and text it to us.

When are wasps most active in Nevada and Wyandot County?

Nests start in spring, when a single queen that survived the winter begins building. Colonies grow all summer and peak in late summer and early fall, which is when most Nevada homeowners notice them. A hard frost ends most colonies, but mated queens overwinter to start again. Small nests are easiest to remove, so call early.

More Wasp & Hornet Questions

Do yellowjackets nest in the ground in Nevada?

Yes. Yellowjackets often nest underground in old rodent burrows, under brush piles and in overgrown corners. Look for wasps flying in and out of one small hole. Don’t mow over it or try to flood it, which sets off the colony. We remove ground nests without pesticides. Text a photo from a safe distance to 419-614-6445.

Is a wasp hive in Nevada the same as a wasp nest?

People use both words, but technically a hive is home to honeybees, while wasps build paper nests. Either way, our Wasp Hive Removal Service takes out yellowjacket, hornet and European paper wasp nests with no pesticides. Honeybee hives are never destroyed; a beekeeper relocates them alive. Our article on wasp hive removal vs. wasp nest removal explains more.

Honeybees in Nevada

A honeybee swarm is hanging in a tree in Nevada. What now?

Please don’t spray them. Keep kids and pets at a distance. A cluster on a branch, fence or mailbox is usually resting while scouts search for a home. Text a photo and your address to 419-614-6445. Swarms hanging in the open are removed at no charge by our sister company, The Mindful Beekeeper, through its Wyandot County swarm rescue service, and the bees go to an apiary instead of being destroyed.

What happens to honeybees removed from Nevada homes?

They go to our sister company, The Mindful Beekeeper. Apiary #1 is at 12860 W TR 114 in Loudon Township, near Fostoria. Starting in 2027, colonies will also go to Apiary #2 in Van Buren, OH and Apiary #3 in Bryan, OH. Each colony passes through an inspection station before joining an apiary, and only extra honey is harvested from strong hives.

How are honeybees taken out of a wall in a house in Nevada?

It’s done with a planned wall cutout. Only the section of siding, drywall or ceiling over the comb is opened. The comb is cut out by hand and secured into frames, and the remaining bees are gently vacuumed into a hive box. See The Mindful Beekeeper’s wall cutout service. The cavity is cleaned so new bees aren’t drawn back.

More Honeybee Questions

What if honeybees are living inside my home in Nevada?

Bees flying in and out of one gap usually mean a colony has moved in and is building comb inside the wall, ceiling or soffit. That’s a structural removal, handled by The Mindful Beekeeper after a careful look at the job. Please don’t plug the entrance or spray it. Trapped bees and leftover comb cause bigger problems. Text a photo to 419-614-6445.

Can I book a honeybee removal in Nevada for next year?

Honeybee relocations from walls, ceilings, soffits and other structures are being booked for Spring 2027, so reserve a spot early. Wasp removal is booked separately. Some extractions happen at night when the weather is hot and humid. Bees hanging in the open are a swarm, which is handled differently. Text a photo to 419-614-6445.
