Bee Removal Southern Michigan: Crossing the State Line
We take calls from Southern Michigan, just across the state line from our Bryan, OH Office. If you need bee removal Southern Michigan help, whether it’s a swarm in a fruit tree or a colony in a wall, here’s how it works and where rescued honeybees go.
Bee Removal Southern Michigan: Swarm or Colony?
UGA Extension Circular 824 explains that a swarm is how honeybee colonies reproduce. It clusters on something like a tree branch while scouts search for a permanent home, and it usually moves into that new nest, such as a hollow tree or a hollow wall, within about 24 hours. If you’d like a swarm collected, call early.
Bees going in and out of the same gap in a wall, soffit or tree for days is an established colony. See honeybee swarms and will bees leave on their own?

Is It Really Bees?
Many “bee” calls turn out to be wasps. A gray, papery nest hanging in a tree is usually bald-faced hornets, and UC IPM notes yellowjackets nest in the ground, inside wall cavities or in enclosed gray paper nests with a single entrance. Honeybees build wax comb inside a cavity instead. See swarm of bees or wasps? and bald-faced hornets.
How Honeybee Relocation Works
- Text a photo and your address or nearest crossroads to 419-614-6445.
- Swarms are boxed and taken alive.
- Colonies in structures are found with a thermal camera scan, then moved comb and all through a careful cutout. Leftover wax is cleaned off so new swarms aren’t drawn back.
- Timing. Relocation from walls and other structures is being scheduled for Spring 2027.
Please don’t spray or seal bees in. UGA notes that if a colony dies in a wall, its combs can melt and stain the walls with honey and wax. See honeybees in walls.
Where Rescued Bees Go
The beekeeper is the company. Rescued colonies go to our sister company, The Mindful Beekeeper, pass through an inspection station, and then join Apiary #1 in Loudon Township. Apiary #3 opens in Bryan in 2027, close to the state line. See beekeeper-owned bee removal.
Wasps, Bumblebees and More
We also remove yellowjacket and hornet nests without pesticides, relocate native paper wasps and bumblebees, and move cicada killers away from foot traffic. Check our service area page or text your address to confirm coverage.
